Yor-El Francis is a Liberian born entrepreneur who currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Francis’ family ties are deeply woven into the fabric of Ghana and Pan-Africanism. In 1951, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was invited to Liberia as a state guest, a gesture from the Liberian government to cast a spotlight on Ghana as it prepared for independence. His father was one of the young pages assigned to Dr. Nkrumah.

Through this relationship, the elder Francis was invited to Ghana to establish a manufacturing base in the early 1960’s. That company, West Africa Enterprises was established in Teshie-Ningua and was viable until the untimely death of the senior Francis in 2013 at Teshie-Ningua.

Francis is a graduate of the Hilton Van Ee School of Monrovia, Liberia and the Sierra Leone Grammar School. Francis is also a graduate of the American Motion Picture and Television Association’s Producer Training program. He began his career as a producer at foxnews.com before moving onto the associated press.com at their Africa and the Caribbean desk.

For the last two decades, Francis has worked in media production. He’s presently an episodic television writer/director/producer working for various television studios including Warner Brothers, Paramount, CBS Viacom, The Walt Disney Studios, Tyler Perry Studios as well as several other independent productions.
