Women Stakeholders

In Ghana women contribute substantially to the economic development of the country. Women form an estimated 52% of the agricultural labor force and produce 70% of food crops. Women also constitute 90% of the labor force in the marketing of farm produce in Ghana and Africa at large.

Women play a vital role in advancing agricultural development and food security in the entire Africa. They participate in all aspects of rural life. They are key traders, and marketing agents, as well as tending to crops and animals, collecting water and wood for fuel, and care for family members.

We seek to promote Women Empowerment as defined through increasing women’s decision-making authority, participation, ownership, farming controls, equity as related to agricultural resources, management and production, and income.

The objective of Women Empowerment in agriculture is to provide women with access to farming equally, education, financial assistance, and opportunities for employment. These schemes also aim to promote women’s health, family, children, and community well-being.

Empowering women can help increase economic growth and productivity, reduce income inequality, and promote sustainable development in rural and urban Africa. It can also lead to improved health outcomes, increased political participation, and reduced violence against women.

Empowering women is essential to the health and social development of families, communities, and countries. When women are living safe, fulfilled, and productive lives, they can reach their full potential. contributing their skills to the workforce and can raise happier and healthier children.
